Here is What I love About the Phone
Slim, sleek design
It’s a relatively small phone, and fits perfectly in your hand. I guess it’s called the pocket because it can easily fit in any pocket without the huge bulge some phones give you!
Brilliant Resolution
It has a screen size of 2.8 inches but a good resolution. The display is smooth and fluid (sounds like PR words I know!) but it’s the truth. There is just no other way to describe it, the display is fair to look upon!
Responsiveness and performance
By now you know I’m firmly #teamSamsung and to quote someone who blogged about Samsung phones:
The new Samsung phones ni kama madem wa Campo. Una-touch, inafungua. Una-touch, inafungua. No delays
The phone will give you a good performance with an internal memory of 3GB and allows you to have a memory card of up to 32GB. This is huge internal memory, the Galaxy Y Duos I’m using has only 160MB of memory for my apps, it’s already full and slows down on me at times and I had to uninstall some apps. The Galaxy Pocket has 3GB of internal memory, you can download as many apps as you want and performance will not be affected.
Camera
The Galaxy Pocket comes with 2 MegaPixel camera, which takes reasonably good photos. With good lighting, you can take printable pics.
Cost
The phone goes for Kshs.9,999. It’s the cheapest Android phone with the best performance. Enough said.

I’d recommend this phone to anyone who’s never used a smartphone before. It is a perfect beginner’s phone. I would also recommend it to to anyone who has a budget of 10K and is wondering which phone to buy!

Samsung Kies makes my computer hang each time, it sucks! So I never use it, I just plug and play, always works for Windows 7

3 gigs huge internal memory!? Really? Next to a 5″ floppy, yes. Next to a modern smart phone, you must be joking!

Hey, the phone costs Kshs. 10,000. It is a modern day ‘affordable’ smartphone. I am comparing it to my Duos which costs Kshs. 16,000 and has 160MB of internal memory. 3GB is quite big for a phone of its price and size.
I am not comparing it to a Galaxy S II, which has 16GB internal memory, but costs over Kshs. 40,000.

Flash memory is dirt cheap these days and there are phones in that price bracket with 8 to 16 gigs of internal memory. Furthermore I thought you were reviewing the phone and not writing up a comparison.

I am giving value to my readers, so I must compare the phone with others in the same price range so they can get a phone suitable for them. There are no rules when it comes to a blog, that is why it is a blog!
So, please give me an example of a phone that costs Kshs. 10,000 or less and has up to 16GB of internal memory?
Some apps refuse to be moved to the SD card, so they remain in your internal memory and slow down your phone. That is why it is important to have a lot of internal memory.

In that price range one can get an N97 mini or the LG KM570 (for those of a queer persuasion) with at the very least 8 gigs of internal memory. And yes I know the importance of internal memory.
Anyway for those readers who want value and are unable or unwilling to stump up the cash, I’d recommend a refurbished iPhone 3GS which is available in that price bracket despite being a relative dinosaur compared to what you’ve reviewed. For the record my dear, value doesn’t mean cheap.
As far as rules are concerned, that’s not a debate worth getting into.

Spare me the drama, I’m no fanboi otherwise I wouldn’t be recommending the LG which is an Android . To each his own iOS, Android, Symbian or whatever floats your boat.
On your second point, I don’t have to write a review simply because I disagree with you. Is the Galaxy Pocket a good phone? To a certain portion of the market, yes it is. Are there better altenatives? Yes there are.

Replace affordable with cheap and that drivel might actually make sense. I’m a student and I still wouldn’t compromise on value for a couple thousand shillings. Style up!
